STOP VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

What happened to our humanity? We cry that the whites hate the blacks when as a matter of fact, blacks are also hating on each other, men hating on men, women hating on women, men hating on women.

Aren't we tired of making hashtags for the same cause trend. Today it is #JusticeForX , tomorrow it is #JusticeForY, who knows who it will be the day after tomorrow?

Over the years women have suffered in the hands of other women, in the hands of men and in the hands of the community at large. We need to do better. We need to teach our kids better! We need to change the narrative.

Dear Men, I understand that some of you also get raped and violated but this is not a gender battle. Before you go all defensive on me, sit back and understand my point here. I'm certain you'll agree with me that too much weight has been placed on women:
A woman gets pregnant --- Why did you get pregnant?
A woman can't have children --- You must have "uselessed" yourself in your single days
A woman gets raped --- What was she wearing?
Her husband beats her up ---- What did you do to him?
A woman gives birth to only girls --- Why can't you give our son a male child?
A woman is too tired to do chores --- Is that how you'll do in your husband's house?
A child is acting irresponsibly --- What was the mother looking at?

I'm just sick and tired of this happening every other day. I'm a woman and it's not fair what you're doing to us. Women are strong and should be shown love, care, and support. Life has become so complicated that abnormalities have now become the norm. The society is messed up and it is the women that suffer for it most of the time. So much is expected from women but so little from men. Where is the balance? Rape cases have now become so rampart that no one is safe anymore.

Dear women learn that NO means NO. Never conform to the mentality that if a man doesn't persist he's less of a man. Same goes also for men. You are not a weakling because you refused to force your way through or persuade her to change her NO to YES.

A woman can raise a king if she's in a right frame of mind. She'll raise a monster if she's broken and frustrated. Let's do better, let's treat our women right, let's support and respect our women. We're not doing for just the present, we're also doing it for the future.

Till We Meet Again, I Remain
