THE WOMANFRASTRUCTURE
Hello fantastic readers, Welcome to today's edition of the #TALKTOORESHO series. Today is a special day as I would like to highlight the importance of women in our society. I'll be doing this every Wednesday to celebrate women and with time I'll be posting different influential women for us to celebrate. Women have to understand that they're queens and they're not in any race with anyone but themselves. As women we are creators, we are builders and the society is blessed to have us in the universe hehehehe
Women play a very vital role in human progress and have a significant place in the society.
The role of women in developing countries has been recognised as the single most important factor when it comes to bringing about and sustaining long term social change. Women are very industrious, business minded, home builders, caregivers etc. About 40% of the world’s labour force are women, not including informal work in the home, on the land, in the market place etc. They contribute to agricultural output, general environmental maintenance and food security.
Development affects men and women differently, often with a more negative impact on women. This can undermine women’s role, status and position within society and therefore perpetuates their inequality.
Women’s equality is vital to sustainable development and the realisation of human rights for all. Equality for women is vital economically, politically, socially, culturally and environmentally – it is also crucially a matter of basic human rights.
The main responsibility of a woman is to preserve the human race. As a mother, her position is unique. She brings up the children with extreme care. The first school of a child is the lap of his mother. It is quite true that great men had great mothers.
Napoleon said: “Give me good mothers and I will give you a good nation.” The progress of a nation depends upon the way the mothers bring up their children. If the mothers are educated (formally, informally, financially and otherwise), the whole society will progress. Women have always played an important role in the progress of a nation. Instead of women to start fighting to be leaders of the nation, I strongly believe they should focus more on balancing the training of their children, male and female alike. This generation needs to do better. Enough of leaving the boy child to play while the girl child is working. Let's also change the narrative that the girl child should be pampered and have everything they want on a platter and it's the boy child that should suffer. The training needs to be balanced and our society will be a better place.
